About me
Joanne Werdel is a Managing Attorney at Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA), where she oversees the organization’s housing work, and provides support to the unemployment compensation and farmworker teams. Prior to joining PLA in 2013, Joanne served as litigation counsel for the Center for Responsible Lending in Washington, DC, where she co-counseled with legal services programs on predatory lending and reverse redlining cases in federal court. Joanne is a 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in South Philadelphia with her husband and two children, ages 9 and 12.
