Karen joined the Northwest Justice Project (NJP) in 2014 as NJP’s first Director of Human Resources. Karen has brought over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources with her to NJP. She is a generalist with experience in recruiting, employee relations, labor relations, staff training and development as well as benefits, compensation, and payroll administration. Most of her career prior to NJP was in the healthcare industry in addition to time in both manufacturing and hospitality. Although her experience includes working in for-profit organizations, most of her positions have been in the nonprofit arena. Most recently, Karen was one of the team that negotiated NJP’s first collective bargaining agreement which went into effect on January 1, 2019. Karen may be reached at
